Guacamole with Tomatillos

Ingredients

  • 4 medium tomatillos, quartered (about 8 oz.)
  • 1 large garlic clove, peeled and quartered
  • 2 serrano chiles, stemmed and chopped
  • 1/2 cup roughly chopped cilantro
  • 6 medium ripe avocados
  • Salt

Directions

  1. Combine the tomatillos, garlic, chiles, and cilantro in a food processor. Add 1/4 cup water and a generous 1/2 teaspoon salt. Process to a coarse puree.
  2. Cut the avocados in half and remove pit. Scoop the avocado flesh into a bowl and mash with a potato masher.
  3. Stir in tomatillo sauce mixture.
